New Occasions Catalogue!!

Hi Stampers,

The new Occasions Catalogue was released earlier this month, and it is packed with fresh spring-coloured products!  Here are a few of my favourites so far:

1.)  Just Sayin' Clear Mount Bundle



This was the first thing I wanted when I saw the new catalogue.  First of all, who doesn't love a stamp set with coordinating framelits?  Then I just love the images in the stamp set, with these the message can be the main focal point on your project.  Finally, I thought I could use the framelits to cut out other sentiments and small images, which adds some versatility, that makes me happy:)

2.) Starburst Sayings Clear Mount Bundle



The next thing I knew I wanted was this set of starburst framelits!  To congratulate or commemorate a big event I like the idea of a winners ribbon and that's the first thing I thought of when I saw these framelits, then when I looked at the stamp set, I saw they would work perfectly for just that.  We might just be using this at stamp club this week, stay tuned!

3.) Watercolour Wonder Designer Note cards and Envelopes



I fell in love with these note cards as soon as I laid eyes on them.  I ordered a package of them, but I'm having that problem where you love the paper too much to risk using it and ruining it!  I might have to stamp my ideas on scratch paper first, otherwise these little beauties might stay on my desk unstamped forever!

Stamping 101

This week was Stamping 101!  The class that uses simple techniques to produce quick projects. This month we used some new products from the Occasions Catalogue as well as a couple of sneak peak products that will be available during Sale-a-bration!

First, some sweet little 3x3 cards using a new stamp set; Just Sayin' and the coordinating Word Bubbles Framelits Dies:

This lay out will work for any of the Just Sayin' sentiments in this set, these are just two examples. It's simply a 3"x6" piece of whisper white card stock scored and folded at 3". If you start with 12"x12" card stock you can make 8 cards from a single sheet. Then mount a 2 3/4" square of monochromatic DSP, Polka Dot Parade used here.  Next stamp your sentiment in the same colour ink, Rich Razzleberry and Marina Mist are shown in the picture and cut out with the coordinating framelits and your Big Shot. Finally, adhere your speech bubble.

I got the idea for this little box from my friend Penny from Penny Tokens Stamping Spot. She gives great directions with loads of photos to show you how to make this with your Envelope Punch Board. I simply added another image from the Just Sayin' stamp set to hold the lid closed, but you could easily add some more stamping, emboss the lid, or add a belly band if you'd like to dress it up a bit. 

Finally, we used the new Angled Tag Topper Punch, but not to make a tag:

 

We used it to make a Ghirardelli chocolate holder. Clever right?  There was a project using this punch to make a nugget holder in Stampin' Success (our demonstrator magazine) and then of course Stampers everywhere started making different versions. For this one we started with a 5 1/2" x 2" piece of Very Vanilla card stock, scored at xx and xx.  Then punch both ends with the Angled Tag Topper Punch and decorate. My sister-in-law gave me this Washi Tape dispenser for Christmas, and I thought this was the perfect chance to break it in!

I tore off two strips of Washi and adhered them as the background. Then I stamped three flag images in Tempting Turquoise, Bermuda Bay, and Coastal Cabana ink. Don't recognize those images? That's because they're from the stamp set Banner Blast that will only be available during Sale-a-bration from January 28th until March 31st. There is also a coordinating Banner Punch which was used to punch out the flag shapes. Lastly, we slid in the chocolate and tied some Bakers Twine through the holes at the top. I think I might have to make a Valentines version for my coworkers. Too cute!

Stamp Club!

Hi Stampers!

I've been away from the blog for a while.  We've had a string of bad news for people who are close to us and I've spent a lot of time and energy dealing with the various situations. Thankfully we haven't had any news for the past couple of weeks, and I'm hopeful that the bad news is done!

The following projects are from the December stamp club class.  We made a Christmas card, a birthday card, and a fun gold gift card holder. 

All about the framelits!  I had seen a few cards around the web using the dress framelits to make a Mrs Claus dress, and since a few people have bought framelits lately with the weekly sales, I knew we had to make this card!  It came together really fast too, once you run the card stock through your big shot you're almost done!  The sentiment is from Joyful Christmas.  I just love how the C in Christmas echoed Mrs Claus' cute little waist line!

Next up, Birthday card!

This card is for all those December birthdays!!  We haven't forgotten about you in the hustle and bustle.  This card is also all about framelits!  We used one of the square framelits to cut the opening in the 'polaroid' and one of the circle framelits for the balloons. The little tied part of the balloon is owls foot from the owl builder punch, we glued it to the back if the circle. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners and cut out with the Bitty Banners framelits. Whew, my Big Shot really earned it's place on my craft shelf tonight!

Last, our gift card holder:

Pretty cute!  This project is all about the punches. I got this idea from another blogger who posted a video of how to make them. Unfortunately, since I'm so delayed in posting this I'm having trouble finding the video for you. I'm going to keep looking. Hopefully I'll find it and come back to add the link. I love this template because by switching out the stamp set you can use it for a birthday or thank you, or anything you need.

HOLIDAY SALE!!

Hi Stampers,

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, we've had a string of bad news here, but things seem to be settling down so...back to stamping!  Stamping is good for the soul and it has been an outlet for me during these unsettled days.

What's better than stamping?  How about a sale on the stamping supplies you've been needing!!!

There are some great things on this list right?!?  Make a wish list and pass it on to your loved ones.  Most husbands appreciate knowing exactly what you want!  Just make sure if you're ordering a stamp set that comes in different languages that you use the correct item number.  Don't ask me why I'm making that recommendation!

 

The sale ends December 2nd, make sure you don't miss the deadline!

Wedding Weekend

Hi Stampers!

This weekend my husband and I had two weddings to celebrate, so out came the whisper white card stock:

I chose the stamp set Apothecary Art for these occasions, I think it has a formal feel to it which is perfect for weddings.  For the focal point I coloured the image with Night of Navy and Pear Pizzaz Stampin' Write markers, then cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits. 

Lots of layers, some texture with the Big Shot, some shine from the organza ribbon and pearls.  A classic wedding look.

Stamping 101

Hi Stampers!

Tonight was Stamping 101!  We started with one sketch two ways, and no tools other than a paper cutter:

 

Yikes that's an off centre picture!  Sorry about that, but the card is still cute.  It uses Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush card stock , the Happy Day stamp set and a little Daffodil Delight ribbon.  The Medallion image is stamped repeatedly in Crisp Cantaloupe to create the look of designer paper, then the greeting, happy day, is stamped in Strawberry Slush.  This stamp set comes with three other sentiments and any of them would look great on this card.

 

Simple sketch take two:

 

Same layout with a single bold image, Christmas Star stamped in Smoky Slate and the sentiment in Night of Navy.   A large Rhinestone is added to the centre for sparkle.

Our last project is not quite as simple, this one used a few tools and is totally worth the extra effort:

 

Love it!  It's a Chapstick or lipstick box!  Super cute right?  Everyone needs one of these in their stocking this Christmas!  It's made with a small pool party box (click here for dimensions) and two dresses cut from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack using a dress from the Dress Up Framelits and the Big Shot.  We decorated with a small length of Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and a large Rhinestone.  Scoring the card stock for the box takes a few minutes, but once that's done it's a snap.  This project just makes me happy!

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack Card One

Hi Stampers!

My annual Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack is fast approaching on November 16th!  Here is one of the cards we'll be making:

The idea of a stamp-a-stack is that the cards are quick enough that you can complete a stack of them in one sitting, but still nice looking cards you'll be proud to hand out to your friends and family. A single layer card is about as simple as you can get!  Using the gorgeous Joyful Christmas stamp set and three rich colours of ink: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green are the trick to making this card work, along with a few rhinestones for some sparkle. 

 

I have a few ladies who stamp with me who like a bit more to their cards.  They can step their cards up a little by adding the second, hand cut layer to the poinsettia image which is popped up on a dimensional.  E-mail  me if you're interested in joining us at the Stamp-a-Stack.
